Hands-on Training Skills Programme on Laparoscopy and Endourology
The European Training in Basic Laparoscopic Urological Skills (E-BLUS) is an EAU programme offered to urologists who want to master the basic skills in laparoscopy required for the OR.
This joint effort of the European School of Urology (ESU) and the EAU Section of Uro-Technology (ESUT) aims to share knowledge and expertise and to harmonise the European standards of laparoscopic surgery.
The E-BLUS programme includes:
- Hands-on training (HOT) sessions of different levels carried out under the guidance of experienced tutors
- A set of training-box exercises developed and validated by the Dutch project Training in Urology(TiU) to train basic skills needed in urological laparoscopy. These basic skills exercises can be tested in an exam (E-BLUS exam)
- An online theoretical course.
The HOT sessions are designed to cater to the specific needs of the participants and represent a unique opportunity to train with international experts in laparoscopy. The sessions are organised separately from the basic skills exercises and the theoretical course featured on this website. The E-BLUS exam tests and certifies a basic level of laparoscopic urological skills. To aid in the training of these skills and to prepare for this E-BLUS exam, the exercises to be performed are detailed on these webpages.
